MINDCUB3R (English version)

It's been a while since the last robot shared here on the blog, but we come back with the spectacular MINDCUB3R, which solves the famous Rubik's cubes! The robot is designed by David Gilday.

This robot has four "feets" with a base that supports the rest of the robot. Placed on this same base it is another one which allows the large motor to rotate the cube; the smart brick that controls the entire process, the small motor that allows the movement of the color sensor (read the colors of each face to be analyzed by the program, I'll explain that later) and a kind of an arm that allows the turning the cube and even up and down plays.

Já lá vai algum tempo desde o último robot partilhado aqui no blog, mas volta hoje em grande com o espetacular MINDCUB3R, que resolve o famosos cubos da Rubik! O robot é da autoria de David Gilday.

Este robot é composto por uma base com quatro apoios que suporta todo o resto do robot. Assentes nessa mesma base está um motor grande que permite a rotação do apoio do cubo, o tijolo inteligente que comanda todo o processo, o motor pequeno que permite a movimentação do sensor de cores (que lê as cores de cada face para serem analizadas pelo programa que mais tarde explicarei) e ainda uma espécie de um braço que possibilita as "jogadas" e ainda os movimentos na vertical.

Here it is another robot ... A bit different than usual, and you will see why. This robot is a mixture of normal Lego pieces, with the Lego Technic parts, that are used on the set Mindstorms EV3. As you can notice by the name I gave him, this is a kind of basket of basketball where the goal is to get the balls pass through the tire that is serving as a basket! Unfortunately, the design is not the best compared with many similar games like bowling or pimball, but with the pieces that I have, is what I can do ...

Aqui está mais um robot... Um pouco diferente do habitual e já irão perceber porquê. Este robot é uma mistura das peças Lego normais, com as peças Lego Technic que são as utilizadas no set Mindstorms EV3. Como podem reparar pelo nome que lhe dei, este é uma espécie de cesto de basketball onde o objetivo é conseguirmos fazer as bolas passarem pelo pneu que está a servir de cesto! Infelizmente, o design não é melhor comparado com muitos jogos semelhantes como bowling ou pimball, mas com as peças que possuo é que se pode fazer...

Mr. BEAM (English version)

Today's robot is a robot able to identify the Lego Technic pieces (beams) both by size and by color. It is a very interesting robot to explore and to understand its functions, thanks to the beautiful design and instructions provided by Kenneth R. Madsen! 

Although this robot can only identify beams, after analyzing its structure, it is easy to know how to make it into something more complex, like a sorter. Unfortunately, I could not do that due to the low number of pieces that were left over, after building it; but those who have more pieces than those that come on the set may well try to reach that goal!

O robot de hoje é um robot capaz de identificar peças da Lego Technic (nomeadamente as vigas) tanto por tamanho como por cor. É um robot muito interessante de se explorar e de perceber o seu funcionamento, graças ao belo design e instruções fornecidas por Kenneth R. Madsen! 

Apesar de este robot apenas identificar as peças, depois de analisar a sua estrutura, é facil de saber como o tornar em algo mais complexo como um "sorter" (um separador de peças automático). Infelizmente, não pude fazer isso devido ao baixo número de peças que me sobraram após o ter montado; mas quem tem mais peças além das que vêm no set pode muito bem tentar alcançar esse objetivo!
